We provide assistance and partnerships for your accommodation in San Diego during your English study.  You can choose from a variety of stays:

Ocean Beach is a working-class neighborhood full of beach bungalows and apartments -- a beach resort community of San Diego but without a resort price.  We can't guarantee that your stay will be in Ocean Beach during the summer months.  We do guarantee that your stay will be comfortable.  WordWide's partnership with a variety of residential hotels, motels and apartment buildings allows you to stay within an hour of our school and enjoy all that San Diego has to offer.

 

HomeStays

 

WordWide HomeStays are a very good and bargain way to stay at or near the beach in San Diego.  Our HomeStays are only $750 US to $995 a month (four weeks) and include two meals per day with your American family.  Our HomeStays also include utilities (for heat, water and electricity), TV service in the home, Internet and an area to do laundry.  WordWide HomeStays are often located near the school in our beach neighborhood, in a friendly and safe environment.  HomeStays help you learn English and have a great experience while in San Diego.

For HomeStay placement or Accommodation Assistance, there is a one-time, nonrefundable $250 Application fee. 

 

This fee ensures you will be happy with your stay.  If you are unhappy for any reason, you may move once a year and won't be charged another fee.  We continually monitor our HomeStays, so that our students can have safe and economical places to stay.

 

Apartments

Ocean Beach has a variety of very nice accommodations.  WordWide has built partnerships in our community that allow our students to stay in the best stays at affordable prices.

If you are here for longer than six months, you may choose to find an apartment of your own.  Your living expenses may include rent, utilities (gas, electricity and possibly water), phone and meals.  You would have to pay your landlord a deposit, which is money that the landlord holds until you leave your apartment in good condition.  If you think you will be changing your accommodation during your stay, it is important to allow WordWide to assist you with what is a normal deposit and what is not.  We charge a one-time small fee to review your lease and inform you about what is normal to pay for a place and how to find the most inexpensive places to stay near the beach.  Nearly all WordWide Employees live in Ocean Beach, so we have many years of experience to help you.  Contact us at study@wordwide.us

Newport Place provides wonderful places where international and American students can live happily year round.  We want your apartment to be safe and clean and have partnered with Newport Place for clean, furnished independent month-to-month accommodations for our students.  www.newportplace.com  Newport place provides the pots and pans, linens and everything you need to move right in.

Bed & Breakfast/Beach Hotels/Motels

 

We like the Elsbree House Beach Area Bed and Breakfast, www.bbinob.com and the Hostelling International's Point Loma Hostel, www.www.sandiegohostels.org for short stays or if you have a large family coming to visit you.  The Elsbree House is comfortable, offers suites and is less than a block from the water.  

 

HI-Point Loma Hostel has changed drastically in the past few years, and it is right up the street from WordWide in a safe neighborhood near shopping.  Hostelling International's Hostels doesn't make you do chores.  The Hostels are clean and have free Internet.  It is, we think, the most inexpensive place to stay in an expensive neighborhood.  You can stay for a maximum of two weeks in any of three hostels near WordWide:  Hostelling International in Point Loma, Hostelling International in downtown San Diego and the Ocean Beach Hostel located in downtown Ocean Beach.  When staying at the Hostelling International Hostels, be sure to mention WordWide = you'll get a hostel membership good for a year in the United States.

 

Note:  For three days at the end of July, San Diego downtown, Mission Valley and Ocean Beach hotels are taken by the ComicCon convention.  If booking your accommodation for the month of July, please be certain to make your reservation and pay for your room in advance, so that it may not be sold.  We live here.  We know some stuff.  Please allow us to assist you.

 

Airport Pickup and Drop-off

 

WordWide will pick you up from the airport any day of the week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and take you to your accommodation for just $50.  Many times, this includes a mini-travel tour of San Diego, depending upon the driver's schedule and time of pickup.  Be sure to contact WordWide, study@wordwide.us, to arrange for your pickup.

Word-Wide ESL Institute is authorized under US Federal Law to enroll non-immigrant alien students for English studies.  We are members of PIER and NAFSA, so that we are updated on the latest information regarding our students status and visas.  We are part of the SEVIS program.  We can assist students with all their questions.
